Sunday SUN

"Peach Cheeks" has a new dress, designed by Ms. Maya of Sverige! Do you like it?
WISP- "boy twin" quilt is making progress.....

Fabric Post Cards for February are coming along....
SUNSHINE...we felt the sun on Sunday AND on Monday! With a little snow it was even more enjoyable! With much care, Maya wrote out her 30 Valentines for her class and teachers. It's not a Swedish tradition to do this but my wonderful mom sends Maya the little cards from the USA to share with her classmates. So she has done this for 4 years in a row now, I believe her class friends anticipate this little greeting in English each year from Maya. We'll also make Valentine's muffins to share with her classmates. Do you have any fun Valentine traditions to share?

Peach Cheeks is looking very groovy there in her new dress. Well done Maya!
You have been very busy there, Carol. The little blue quilt is great; and the postcards are so cute!
What fun to build a snowman. I would like to do that again one day.
We didn't have Valentines Day traditions when I was at school (a while ago now (I'm 45) But it is very popular now, (especially with restaurants and florists).

We have an ALL RED dinner : spaghetti, salad with dyed red ranch, dyed red bread sticks, red jello...and then we have to eat it with some wacky utensil that has been numbered from the utensil drawer (Potatoe masher, spatula, wooden spoon,etc....) Each year we invite a family we don't know that well or that one of our kids spends a lot of time with but WE don't know. We ask the couple to tell us how they met and decided to marry...and then we visit while decorating sugar cookies that we then decide who to take to and door bell ditch with a note as to WHY we LIKE them...it's fun to come up with families we both know, but didn't know we both knew them. Sometimes we choose teachers from school or coaches from sports, etc.
To invite the family, we take a huge sheet of butcher paper and write the invite on it and tape candy all over it. THen we tape it to the outside of their front door, so when the first person tries to go out it in the morning they can't until they take it down.

Maya is adorable!

My husband and I will eat somewhere different. This year it is a Crab Feed Fundraiser with friends and neighbors.
