Happy St. Lucia Day!
Last weekend we baked all the Lussekatter (Lucia buns) for today's Lucia Celebration of the Winter Solstice. They are made with saffran to get the lovely color and flavor. Maya loved designing the buns into their different shapes and she wanted to go beyond the traditional shapes...so our buns have butterflies, flowers and snails in the batch.

Wow, I bet you lussekatte taste better than ours. We had a luciatåg this morning with the other kids in the building, it was so fun seeing how everyone responded to the kids singing. Maybe next year Maya would like to join us??? By the way, I need to take back my last comment. I got beautiful long stem roses yesterday!!
Happy St. Lucia Day. I'm waiting to see Little Lucia!!
Looks like the two of you made some delicious bread and had a great time doing it. Thanks for sharing.
