Chasing at school

After Maya recovered from her long day at school & after school care, she told me over and over again with lots of laughter about her adventures in the school yard during recess times! It seems as though she is part of a little gang of girls who are being chased by the boys in her class. I heard all the details of where and how they ran and ran, hid out then ran some more...escaping each time from the clutches of the boys! At one point she was being held on the arm by a boy (a good family friend of ours) and she managed to wiggle out of her jacket to escape yet again! Someone else brought her the jacket back...my first response was "you didn't leave your jacket on the ground, did you?" After she finished telling me all the details of this play, I asked her WHY they were chasing them... I asked if the boys wanted to hit them, kiss them, or play with them? Maya responded "Oh, if those boys had wanted to kiss me, I wouldn't have minded. I like getting kissed!" OH PLEASE HELP ME! She's only in kindergarten! Maybe she's watched one too many princess movies from Disney! I have to be happy though, at least she's hanging out with a group and not alone! (She's usually a shy, loner kid.) Maybe the dinosaur t-shirt she wore today was an attraction to the boys...who knows!

Ah, the good old days of playing "Catch 'em, Kiss 'em"...! That brings back fond memories. :D

I remember those games too...and being terrorized by this one boy who had an electric wheel chair go-cart thing...screammmmmming through the play yard, but liking the attention!
Guess it's not like she'll be making out with them behind the gym (yet).

I am still laughing and smiling at your tale! My daughter is 22 and we went to the mall on Saturday...boys were dropping their jaws and trying to assist, get attention and she was oblivious to it (she is very happily promised)but Grandma and I had to laugh out loud and resist the temptation to tell those boys "Put your eyes back in your head...thats my Daughter/Granddaughter!" It is just starting for you! LOL.

That is a great funny story! If she's like her mom, she will be chased for years and years to come. Poor Bo. It's going to be quite a challenge for him!
