Bear Park at Orsa-Grönklitt

The biggest Bear Park in Europe is in Grönklitt, so of course, we had to go there! It was a hot day but with the help of ice cream, shade trees and Pappa's shoulders we all survived the long walks up and down the mountain side! July 28, 2008 (Felices Patrias en Perú!) Viewing bridges, like this one, provide the visitors with great places to see the animals and the surrounding scenery of Dalarna.
Pappa and Maya take a rest in the shade!

The cutest little bear is at the bottom of the pole!
What fun to watch the cubs at play!
The bears and other animals in this park live in HUGE enclosures ...but obviously, life is greener on the other side of the fence for one of the bears. Maybe there is a potential mate in the next area?
All tired out from playing.....
This is Bo's photo...you can almost feel the fur!
After being married 56 years, my parents are still lovey-dovey with each other!

Maya gets a ride up the hillside! Pappa got a real workout! To the right of this photo is the future POLAR bear habitat, opening in 2009. I made a photo album on Picassa with a 10 more GREAT photos my husband took of the animals here (including a Siberian Tiger) but I don't know how to put it on this post. When I figure it out I'll do it later.
Even though we spent a lot of time looking in the wolf area, we never saw one little glimpse of a wolf (probably hiding in the shade!) ....so Maya insisted that I take a photo of one in the museum of the Bear Park.
We really liked this scene at the museum of the Park. "What big eyes you have....." The wolf was a real stuffed one!
Maya checked out Little Red's fashion quite thoroughly!
