My Baby started school on Thursday....

My Baby woke up in a great mood.....Then she had some cereal for breakfast (and a warm bowl of grits with västerbotten cheese)....
Before we left, she packed her bag....
And then, in a blink of the eye, she was READY FOR KINDERGARTEN!!!
And Mommy cried because she was so happy, excited, nervous and proud that her little baby girl was starting school! It seems like only yesterday .....time sure does fly!
When Maya came home, she announced that "School was GREAT!" She seemed to enjoy all of it and had lots to tell including that she and some other kids "got lost in the cafeteria". I asked her how that could have happened and she replied, "I just wasn't paying attention to my teachers." (A good lesson on the first day as she promised to pay better attention to them on Monday!) We are VERY pleased with the two teachers she has at the school and with their program for the term. More later...as stories come forth!

Oh yes, another rite of passage for both Mommy and Maya. Congratulations on making it through the experience! Is Maya going to school in the village or where you work?

I'm amazed by 2 things: how much baby Maya looks exactly the same as kindergarten Maya, AND by HOW grown up kindergarten Maya looks! WOW!

I LOVE YOU!!!! You are the best MOM!!! You are doing a GREAT JoB!!!I know because it broke your heart to send her. I have to admit...EVERY YEAR it breaks my heart to start a new school year and have them leave out the door.

I told MEgan you'd fix her up with a Swede...the language might be a barrier but she says if he's a good guy WITH A LIFE PLAN she's on her way!?! That says alot for her...she won't let ME set her up...I'm wondering if it isn't the traveling to Sweeden...MEgan LOVES to travel.

I want to come do CRAFTY DAY with you!!!!

Work has been nuts (which is good---lots of work usually means money) Megan moved home the same time Michael came home...SO FUN FOR US!!! But with that and the Olympics and real life I am doing poorly at blogging and responding! Forgive me!BuT i CHECK yours most every day!!! And am SAD when there isn't a new entry.

Oh Natalie! That's so great to know you are checking in on me...cuz I'm checking in on you, too! (Matter of fact, I just left you a comment...while you were leaving this one! amazing!)

Tell Megan that I would guess 97% of men in her age selection range speak perfectly GREAT English here in Sweden! (That's why I usually don't bother trying to use Swedish when I need the assistance of a younger Swede...ex: shopping, computer help, banking, etc) So when she's ready to come...we've got a guest room waiting! (And the Mormon church is in walking distance to my work!)
She's welcome!

LIZ----

When Maya is in the bathtub, hair wet and pulled off her face, she looks SO MUCH like the baby she was...I have these weird flashbacks every time I see her. Are all children like that? Still have their baby face?
Maya still has her baby teeth...all of them so that might have something to do with it, too.

Oh how grown up she looks! So glad that she enjoyed her first day. My baby is all grown up now such a wonder to see how quickly it all goes by.
